Government(s) Ka tamasha dekho

I’m sure that you all might be cheering for your favourite Indian Premier League team along with the infamous skin clad cheerleaders. Now you will have more off those girls for company cheering for your team…Its all thanks to Maharashtra Governments kindness…its all set to waive crores in entertainment tax that the Indian Premier League cricket matches would normally attract. The direct beneficiaries of this scheme will be millionaires and billionaires…no rewards for guessing…most of them are based in Mumbai. Those Kings and queens of bollywood and the industrial tycoons did not find it difficult to spend crores of rupees in auctions for buying teams and players for what is called as the “world’s richest cricket tournament”. If the governments proposal goes through the IPL bigwigs will be getting tax waivers on many things including hiring cheer leaders.

This kind of largesse and kindness is shown by the government of a State where the nation’s most distraught farmers live in regions of Vidharbha. Yes indeed…they also had been given tax waivers in plenty…politicians speak about those waivers at length to gain maximum advantage and to garner that strong farmer vote bank.
But most of the farmers won’t be able to enjoy those tax benefits. The reason behind it is that there is a cut off imposed by the govt for being eligible for the tax waiver. No farmer who owns more than two acres of land is not eligible for it and most of the farmers in Vidharba owns more than two acres !

Here the irony is that the drought hit distressed farmers are “Too-big” and the billionaire IPL bosses are “Too small”! I have never heard of IPL bosses committing suicide in India and I don’t think there will ever be one…but those agitated, panic-stricken farmers have now got a new reason for continuing their suicide spree– that they are “Too-Big”.

Inflation knocks (down) me too…

It was during my last visit to one of my favorite mallu food joints in Mumbai, the Deluxe
hotel that I noticed a very strange alteration in the menu card. The otherwise smartly printed card was full of corrections with pen…I mean in a column of the menu which is very close to me and my pockets, the pricelist. My eyes swiftly caught the trend of those alterations…it was an upward movement. My favorite Porotta and chicken curry now costs me a good Rs.73/-, where as previously it was Rs.58/-.

Now I know what is all this hue and cry about Inflation. I read an article in Economic times recently that Inflation is at an all time high and the cluster of society that suffers the most is our UPA govts very own “AAM AADMI”. I still wonder whenever some thing good happen to our economy (like the bull run in the stock markets), the people who benefit are mostly form a niche part of our society (usually the well-off, so called upper class) and whenever some thing bad happens (like the Inflation phenomenon) the people who get battered are always the people like me and you - the “AAM AADMI”.

I remember my aunt complaining about the rice in prices of Vegetables, Groceries and yes she told me this – “Whatever is available in the market, every thing has become costly including the broom which I bought yesterday”! At that time I took her anger as an exaggeration of the price rise…but now with an altered menu at deluxe hotel, I realize inflation is running down deep not only into my pockets but also presumably in to the wallets of all other bachelors who live alone as well.
Down down Inflation...We want to live with a surplus domestic budjet...

Long Live Indian Judiciary

Yes...There it is...A ball from the blue...This time the ball was thrown out by our Supreme court.
Did u caught (got) it right Mr.Ramadoss ? Eminent Surgeon Mr.Venugopal is back at the helm of affairs in AIIMS,Indias prominent medical institution. It was indeed a set back for our central goverment(is it the right term ?) when the apex court quashed the AIIMS Amendment bill, which fixed the retirement age of Directors at 65years, as it was approved by our Parliament(read the rulling Coalition). This bill was devised with great pain by our health Minister Mr.Anbumani Ramadoss and exclusively customised for Dr.Venugopal with the sole aim of ousting him from AIIMS.There was some unsettling urgency in how the Bill was passed and the way in which Ramadoss brought in a supplemetary resolution seeking removal of Dr.Venugopal.

It was a draconian step and Mr.Ramadoss...this is not the time of Dictator Ship.

Dr.Venugopal is one of India's best known heart surgeons and the man who conducted the first heart transplant in our country.Thank God...we can still trust our Judicial system...

Kudos Dr.Venugopal for fighting tooth and nail against the system...Kudos Indain Judiciary for bringing this man back to the place where he belongs ! Now Ramadoss can concentrate on his search for Screen smokers and yes...screen drinkers as well !

This is my take on a canvas of Another Color Ful life...I hope you all will be with me painting new shades to it !

Colors - I belive is one of God's most wonderful and thoughtful gift for the Universe. Imagine a world without colors...it will be so dull and droning.Colors are so close to our life, its fascinating to experience how different colors create different feelings in our minds.Red,orange, yellow, black, white, pink, purple, green etc...we are all so attached to it, yet too often we take these gorgeous colors for granted.Perhaps while we are taking time to smell those roses and jasmines, we should take time to notice their lovely color as well.

Let our world be filled with colors of Kindness and humanity which can take away our sufferings and sorrows...Sabko Rang de !
